muzzle (object)
Muzzles can work in various ways, typically by covering the mouth or restraining the jaw from moving, thus preventing actions such as biting or barking. Muzzles will generally have an appearance that covers the entire snout but can also be as simple as a ring around the snout. A muzzle is not a type of gag unless it is combined with one. If the object does not cover or restrain the snout it is a halter.
