dragoon
In history, a dragoon was the term to describe a member of a European military unit trained and armed to fight mounted or on foot. The term has now seen modern use in several RPGs (usually Japanese ones) to describe warriors who wield polearms and often possess the ability to jump inhumanly high in order to plunge into enemies. More often than not they have an association with dragons, as their name implies.
