Dragon koopa is the fan nickname for Bowser's species; a race of large, powerful creatures designed with a mix of traits from softshell turtles, oxen, hippopotamuses, Ankylosaurian dinosaurs, and of course dragons, who serve as leaders in the eponymous koopa clan.
