genie tail
The wispy substance linking a genie to their bottle, preventing them from moving far away. The bottle may not even exist and the tail may have entirely different characteristics from their upper body (e.g. being made out of smoke or pure magic). This way of depicting genies was apparently popularised by the Genie from Disney's Aladdin.
